Sutaj Estok Hopes Trump-Putin Summit to Result in Peace Agreement in Ukraine

Bratislava, 15 August (TASR) - Coalition Voice-SD leader and Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok expects the summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to result in reasonable positions from both leaders and hopes that the talks will lead to a truce in Ukraine, the minister stated at a press conference on Friday. "I believe that these negotiations will be reasonable ones, that both the American and Russian sides realise how necessary it is to put an end to this war. I'm personally convinced that this should've happened a long time ago, because every single day of this conflict means lost human lives, both on the Ukrainian and Russian sides and enormous economic damage," said Sutaj Estok. US President Donald Trump will meet his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday. They will mainly discuss ending the war in Ukraine, first in private and then in the presence of delegations.
