Zakamenne, 13 August (TASR) - Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD) should bring proposals for addressing the situation with the ambulance service tender to the coalition council meeting set to be held on Thursday (14 August), Environment Minister Tomas Taraba (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) told a press conference on Wednesday. Taraba's main problem with the scrapped tender was that price wasn't taken into account in the selection process. He added that he had been pointing out the problems for a long time. Taraba also said that the ministry had caused reputational damage with the tender. "Today, the public will hardly believe that they are able to carry out another tender differently," he stated, adding he thinks that "there is no alternative other than the state taking the whole thing under itself". The Emergency Medical Service Operations Centre (OS ZZS) on Wednesday scrapped the tender aimed at evaluating applications to operate ambulance service stations. The ambulance service tender was criticised both by the opposition and by the coalition Slovak National Party. The opposition parties on Friday (8 August) tabled a no-confidence motion in Sasko in this regard in Parliament. am/mcs
