Orava: 19 Villages Supported in Second Subsidy Call for Sewerage Systems

Zakamenne, August 13 (TASR) - In the second specialised subsidy call for the construction of sewerage systems in the Orava area in northern Slovakia, 19 municipalities received subsidies from the Environmental Fund, Environment Minister Tomas Taraba (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) told a briefing on Wednesday in the village of Zakamenne in Zilina region, adding that the total amount of allocated subsidy funds amounts to €15 million. The minister pointed out that at the end of last year 14 Orava municipalities received subsidies in the first call for proposals in the total amount of €25 million. "I want to thank all the mayors who submitted quality projects. Some of them were certainly surprised that it went so quickly, because for 30 years politicians have been coming here to take pictures and give promises to people and in the end nothing came of it," noted Taraba. am/mcs
