Bratislava, 12 August (TASR) - Bratislava self-governing region (BSK) has developed a plan for the digital transformation of the region, BSK spokeswoman Lucia Forman told TASR on Tuesday, adding that it contains specific steps on how it plans to use up-to-date technologies, data and digital tools to improve public services, enhance the quality of life and support sustainable development in the region. "This plan is our response to the challenges of our time. We want to create a smart region that is efficient, green and open to data and innovation. We're starting from scratch, but we have a clear vision and a plan to move forward," said Bratislava region governor Juraj Droba. The spokesperson noted that the region wants to involve a wide range of partners in the transformation, including academia, entrepreneurs and the civil sector. The strategic document, entitled Digital Transformation Roadmap, was developed in cooperation with the European Commission as part of the Digital Europe initiative. It is divided into three phases. There are four key components in the process, including data as the basis for decision-making, interconnected technologies, security and GDPR, and the digital platform and the Digital Twin. am/mcs
