UDZS: VsZP and Dovera Health-insurers Ended 1H25 in Profit, Union in Red

Bratislava, 11 August (TASR) - Health-insurance companies operating in Slovakia posted an aggregate profit of €31.2 million in the first half of this year, the Health-care Supervisory Office (UDZS) reported on Monday. According to preliminary results, state-run health-insurer VsZP ended the first half of the year with a profit of €24 million, and private health-insurer Dovera recorded a profit amounting to €8.3 million. Meanwhile, another private health-insurer, Union zdravotna poistovna (ZP) ended the first half-year €1 million in the red. UDZS noted that all the health-insurance companies meet the the solvency requirements and are paying invoices to health-care providers in line with the requirements set by law. "UDZS monitors and publishes the results of evaluations of health-insurance companies' solvency on a monthly basis," said its spokeswoman Monika Betkova. The equity capital of VsZP amounted to €84.7 million, while that of Dovera stood at €213.5 million and that of Union ZP at €22.3 million at the end of June. The health-insurers posted a cumulative loss of €84.8 million for the same period of last year. UDZS reports on their performance in its bulletin every quarter. ko/df
