Bratislava, 11 August (TASR) - Tourist accommodation providers in Slovakia posted revenues totalling almost €166 million (ex-VAT) for the second quarter of 2025, an increase of over 19 percent year-on-year (y-o-y), the Statistics Office reported on Monday. Domestic clientele generated 60 percent of these revenues. Revenues from domestic tourists grew at faster pace than those from foreign guests. However, it's impossible to compare their value with the pre-covid period due to the different methodology by which they were calculated (revenues have been reported without VAT since 2021). The highest volumes of revenues were generated by accommodation providers in the three most important tourism regions: Bratislava, Zilina and Presov. These three regions provided almost 60 percent of total accommodation revenues in Slovakia. Domestic clientele generated the vast majority of sales in almost all regions, with only Bratislava region recording a dominant 71-percent share of revenues from foreigners. In the second quarter of this year accommodation services in Slovakia were provided by 5,545 facilities. A total of 77,000 rooms and 223,000 beds were available to visitors. The net occupation rate of permanent beds was 25.5 percent, while the figure was 31.1 percent in the case of rooms. ko/df
