Police: Fire Prompts Evacuation of Dunajska Streda Shopping Centre

Bratislava/Dunajska Streda, 7 August (TASR) – A shopping centre in Dunajska Streda (Trnava region) was evacuated on Thursday afternoon due to a fire that broke out in one of the clothing stores, spokesperson for the Trnava regional police Veronika Dachova confirmed to TASR on Thursday. The spokesperson added that no injuries were reported. The incident was first reported by the tvnoviny.sk news website. „The shopping centre has reopened once the fire was extinguished,” said the spokesperson, detailing that the damage has been preliminarily estimated by the owner at €20,000. „The case has been taken over by a criminal police investigator. Due to initial procedural steps, no further information can be provided at this time,” Dachova added. mf/mcs
