Parkanyi and Bikar New Members of URSO Regulatory Board

Bratislava, 6 August (TASR) - Marian Parkanyi and Milos Bikar have become new members of the Regulatory Board of the Office for the Regulation of Network Industries (URSO), the President's Office has informed TASR, adding that they were nominated by the government and received their decrees of appointment on Wednesday.
The board will thus have five members, which will provide it with a quorum when approving strategic URSO documents and reviewing objections or appeals against the office's decisions. Currently, one seat remains vacant on the board, which is subject to a proposal of the Slovak Parliament.
The chair and members of the URSO Regulatory Board are appointed by the president, with three members being named by a proposal of Parliament and the other three on a proposal of the government.
Under the law on regulation in network industries, the URSO Regulatory Board is quorate if at least four of its members are present. One of them must be the chairman or vice-chairman of the board.
