Tatranska Lomnica, 5 August (TASR) - My role at the Tatra National Park (TANAP) is to complete the zoning procedures, which is the most important thing in any national park so that clear rules and zones are set, TANAP administration acting director Michal Babnic told a news conference in Tatranska Lomnica on Tuesday.
"Another task at TANAP is to improve the quality of services for people, as the national park should also serve as a recreational area for the public, while keeping nature protection in mind, of course. I would leave more specific tasks for the future, as I first need to become acquainted with the current situation at TANAP and set goals for the future," said Babnic regarding his vision.
Environment Minister Tomas Taraba (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) appointed Michal Babnic to lead the TANAP administration as of 1 August. Until then he served as director of the Low Tatras National Park.
