SHMU Issues Storm Alerts for Rimavska Sobota, Revuca and Roznava Districts

Bratislava, 4 August (TASR) - Storm alerts are in effect for the districts of Rimavska Sobota, Revuca (both Banska Bystrica region), and Roznava (Kosice region) on Monday evening, the Slovak Hydrometeorological Office (SHMU) reported on its website on the same day. Storms associated with heavy rain, strong gusts of wind, and hail are expected in these locations. The warning is preliminarily in effect until 8.00 p.m. First-degree hydrological alerts for flash floods in the Slana River basin are also in place in these districts. „Intense rain may cause a significant rise in the water levels and lead to flooding, especially in small streams,“ the SHMU institute noted, adding that these alerts are valid until 9.30 p.m. lin/mcs
