Bratislava, 31 July (TASR) - A Slovak rescue team led by the Interior Ministry has successfully evacuated more child patients and their family members from Gaza to safety, TASR was told by spokesman for the ministry Matej Neumann on Thursday.
In total, 38 people were evacuated. This was the sixth medical evacuation operation of families with children coming from the Middle East region.
The evacuation of eight chronically ill children and their 30 family members to Norway was arranged by a certified module of the Interior Ministry, which includes the ministry's Air Service, the ministry's crisis management unit and NGOs Slovak Samaritans Association and Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe from Austria.
"This is another demonstration of the Slovak Republic's solidarity and determination to be a reliable humanitarian partner ready to provide its capacities and expertise in the specific and in-demand area of medical evacuation," said Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok (Voice-SD).
