Bratislava, 30 July (TASR) - The Slovak president, premier and ministers should have price limits when purchasing their service cars, according to a draft amendment to the law on budgetary rules in public administration submitted to Parliament by opposition MP Marian Viskupic (Freedom and Solidarity/SaS). In line with Viskupic's draft, the president would have a limit on purchasing a car of €90,000, the premier €60,000, and a cabinet member €48,000. If approved, the amendment should take effect as of 1 January 2026. "The aim of the submitted draft is to set spending limits for acquiring cars for the Slovak president, for cabinet members and organisations that are partly or fully financed from the state budget. The proposal primarily focuses on limits for vehicles for the president and cabinet members, as these haven't been governed by any law so far," said the submitter in his explanatory report. ko/df
