Police: Man Suspected of Bomb Threats Tracked Down in Sala

Sala/Bratislava, 22 July (TASR) – Criminal investigators from Sala have tracked down a man suspected of making bomb threats.
According to the Regional Directorate of the Police Corps in Nitra, the man repeatedly reported the presence of bombs at publicly accessible locations in Sala via social media.
The first threat concerned a shopping centre, which had to be evacuated along with the surrounding area. In the second incident, the 22-year-old man targeted the town cemetery. Bomb disposal experts carried out searches in both cases and found no explosive devices or components.
The man has been charged with the criminal offence of making false bomb threats. As he committed similar offences in 2019 and 2023, he might face a prison sentence of three to eight years.
