SHMU: Thunderstorms Associated with Cold Front Heading into Warm Air from West

Bratislava, 21 July (TASR) - Thunderstorms associated with a cold front are heading into the very warm air from the west and forecast models simulate the passage of this system through western Slovakia above central Slovakia in the next few hours, the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMU) posted on a social network on Monday. Most scenarios signal a local transient breakup of storms over western Slovakia, but winds will strengthen. "In the western half of the territory it will reach around 70 kilometres per hour in places, but especially in the far south-west and in the area of the Little Carpathians there is a small chance for stronger winds," noted the meteorologists. am
