Bratislava, 17 July (TASR) - Year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation measured by the EU's Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) intensified its growth to 4.6 percent, the Statistics Office reported on Thursday.
In a monthly comparison, consumer prices measured by HICP rose by 0.3 percent in Jube.
In a y-o-y comparison, prices grew in all 12 segments, with the growth ranging from 2.3 percent in the health-care sector up to 10 percent in education. Concerning monthly developments, prices rose in eight of the 12 monitored segments, with the growth being chiefly driven by price increases in the sectors of transport (1.8 percent) and hotels and restaurants (0.9 percent). Conversely, a 0.1-percent drop in the price of housing (including energies) and a 0.2-percent decline in the price of furniture and household maintenance contributed most to slackening of the monthly inflation.
The average harmonised inflation rate for the 12-month period ending in June 2025 amounted to 3.7 percent.
