Bratislava, 15 July (TASR) - The constitutional parliamentary committee didn't deal with the state of the rule of law or the implications of an amendment to the Penal Code on Tuesday, as it wasn't quorate, with not enough MPs attending the meeting. Opposition members of the committee criticised the absence of coalition MPs, declaring their resolution to convene the committee session again. A special committee session was initiated by MPs of the opposition Progressive Slovakia (PS) party. They wanted the committee to address what they perceive as Justice Minister Boris Susko's (Smer-SD) failures. They invited the minister to attend the meeting. In addition to other things, they wanted to ask Susko about the European Commission's report on the state of the rule of law in Slovakia for 2025 and the impacts of an amendment to the Penal Code on entrepreneurs engaged in the retail sector. ko/df
