Pezinok, 15 July (TASR) - The Specialised Criminal Court (STS) in Pezinok (Bratislava region) decided at its non-public session on Tuesday that Daniel B. [name abbreviated due to legal reasons], who is accused of extremist criminal activity, will be remanded in custody, TASR has learnt from his lawyer David Lindtner. The court's verdict isn't final, and Daniel B.'s appeal against it will be decided by the Supreme Court. "The judge has decided to keep Daniel B. in custody. She dealt with our arguments in a way that we disagree with," stated Lindtner, who views the judge's arguments as formalistic. "She based her arguments on the Supreme Court's ruling by which Daniel B. was taken into custody two months ago," said the lawyer, adding that a constitutional appeal against his client's prosecution in custody has been filed. A prosecutor of the Prosecutor-General’s (PG) Office filed an indictment against Daniel B. with the Specialised Criminal Court in early July. The indictment covered 26 attacks described in 12 separate extremism-related counts. Daniel B., who had previously been the subject of three arrest warrants, was extradited from the United Kingdom to Slovakia under strict security measures at the end of January. In late April, the Slovak Supreme Court remanded him in a pre-trial custody due to concerns that he might continue his criminal activities. ko/df
