Police Detain Person Suspected of Stabbing Boy in Centre of Bratislava

Bratislava, 14 July (TASR) - The police have detained a person suspected of stabbing a 17-year-old boy in the centre of Bratislava on Saturday (12 July) night, Bratislava region police spokesperson Michal Szeiff has informed TASR. "The police are taking the necessary procedural steps in line with the law," said Szeiff, adding that they will provide more information as soon as the procedural situation allows it. The suspect was detained less than 24 hours after the incident took place. The perpetrator reportedly stabbed the 17-year-old boy in his abdomen before fleeing the scene. The police have launched a criminal investigation into the crime of bodily harm. The injured boy was taken to hospital following the attack. The National Institute of Children's Diseases reported on Sunday that the patient has undergone surgery, is out of danger and is in a stable condition. ko/df
