Stats: All Monitored Sectors of Economy Saw Revenue Growth of over 2% in May

Bratislava, 14 July (TASR) - All five sectors of the economy monitored notched up year-on-year (y-o-y) revenue growth in May 2025, with growth pace decelerating in the four of them, however, the Statistics Office reported on Monday. "Industry, the biggest sector of the economy, posted the growth of 3.6 percent in revenues in fixed prices in May. Twelve of the 16 monitored industrial branches posted y-o-y growth in revenues. The most significant impact came from the production of metals (9.2 percent) and the production of coke and oil products (71.3 percent)," said the office. Revenues in selected market services rose by 7.9 percent y-o-y. Although their growth pace slowed down, it was still the second highest to be posted this year. Construction companies saw revenue increase by 7.3 percent y-o-y, going up for the sixth month in a row. Revenues in the IT sector were 2.9 percent higher than a year ago, with growth pace slowing down for the second month in a row. Revenues in transport and warehousing went up by 2.1 percent. Seasonally adjusted, revenues rose in monthly terms in mere two of the five sectors monitored, particularly in transport and warehousing (0.8 percent) and in the IT sector (0.3 percent). Meanwhile, revenues in industry fell by 5.4 percent and those in selected market services by 1.2 percent. Revenues in construction recorded a monthly decline of 0.2 percent. "Five months into 2025, revenues for own goods and services grew in all the five monitored sectors of the economy. Revenues in industry increased by 6.1 percent, in selected market services by 6.6 percent, in transport and warehousing by 3.4 percent, in the IT sector by 2.6 percent and in construction by 10.2 percent," said the office. ko
