Police: Drunk Lad Hospitalised After Collision with Sword of Prince Pribina

Nitra, 10 July (TASR) – A 21-year-old intoxicated man was hospitalized at the Nitra Faculty Hospital with an unorthodox injury - caused by his collision with the sword of Prince Pribina, Nitra municipal police reported on Thursday. A police patrol discovered the bloodied man lying motionless on the sidewalk in the pedestrian zone during heavy rain. The man had slipped on the wet pavement and struck his head on the statue’s sword. He was under the influence of alcohol but remained conscious and spoke with the officers. Police provided an initial first aid at the scene and called emergency medical services, who transported the man to the hospital for further treatment. mf
