Bratislava, 10 July (TASR) – Eximbanka Slovakia will take part in efforts to support the reconstruction and recovery of Ukraine, as the European Commission has signed a new package of agreements worth €2.3 billion with international and bilateral public financial institutions under the Ukraine Investment Framework (UIF).
The package includes €1.8 billion in loan guarantees and €580 million in grants, Eximbanka spokesperson Martina Vrablik Solcanyiova announced on Thursday.
„Today, Eximbanka took part in a major conference focused on Ukraine’s recovery. Participants included representatives of the European Commission, Ukraine, and various countries. On this occasion, Eximbanka signed an agreement with the European Commission for €70 million and with the European Investment Fund for €20 million. These steps mark the beginning of a process that will lead to the reconstruction of specific projects in Ukraine," said Eximbanka Director General Rastislav Podhorec.
Through Eximbanka and the Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation (SAMRS), the EU will provide €69.5 million in guarantees and €19.3 million in grants. The funds are intended to strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience and the stability of its electricity grid.
Eximbanka has also joined the EU guarantee program for export credits to Ukraine under the InvestEU initiative. The program offers a total of €300 million in guarantees from the European Investment Fund for participating national export credit agencies, of which Eximbanka will receive €20 million, Solcanyiova added.
