Bratislava, 10 July (TASR) – Ensuring the safety and security of all Slovak citizens - regardless of their origin, nationality, or place of residence - remains a top priority for the police, acting Police Corps President Jana Maskarova stated on Thursday, following her meeting with the Government Proxy for Roma Communities Alexander Dasko. TASR learnt the news from police spokesperson Roman Hajek. Regarding concerns about security of Roma communities, Maskarova assured that every incident will be thoroughly investigated and none allowed to go ignored. According to her, the law protects everyone equally. She also stressed that any suspicions of disproportionate actions by police officers will be immediately examined. The police are going to address problems proactively, in close cooperation with local governments, experts, and community workers, Maskarova added. These principles were voiced and reaffirmed during her meeting with the Proxy. „They agreed that only legality, transparency, mutual respect, and trust can lead to improvements in society,” Hajek stated. mf
