Bratislava, 9 July (TASR) – Railway freight operator ZSSK Cargo has been awarded a €5.68 million grant from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) to modernize 23 electric freight locomotives and the funding will be used to install the European Train Control System (ETCS) - part of the broader European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS), the company announced on Wednesday.

Bratislava, 9 July (TASR) – Slovakia exported goods worth €9.4 billion in May 2025, according to preliminary data, representing a year-on-year increase of 3.1 percent, whereas imports declined by 1.9 percent to €8.8 billion, which resulted in a trade surplus of €560.8 million - the highest since June last year, the Statistics Office reported on Wednesday.
