Bratislava, 7 July (TASR) - The parliamentary building is set to undergo renovation aimed at reducing its energy consumption, with the Parliament Office launching a public procurement process for a contract estimated at nearly four million euros, excluding VAT. The renovation will include the replacement of windows and facade openings, and it is due be funded with European Union resources, the Parliament Office's press department told TASR on Monday. The renovation work is expected to reduce heat loss, improve acoustic insulation and enhance the thermal properties of parliament's main building. Insulation will also be applied to structural elements between the garage and heated sections of the building. "This specifically concerns the ceiling above the garage in areas located beneath heated spaces," the Parliament Office explained. The project will be financed under the EU-funded Slovakia Programme 2021–2027. mf/df
