Drucker: Voice-SD and Its Ministers Did Not Propose Cuts to Municipalities

dnes 10:41
Bratislava, 4 July (TASR) - Neither the coalition Voice-SD party nor any of its ministers proposed any cuts to local governments, stated Education Minister Tomas Drucker (Voice-SD), stressing that the claim made by Investments, Regional Development and Informatisation Minister Samuel Migal (Independent) that Drucker himself proposed to block €200 million from European funds to local governments is false. „In fact, Investments, Regional Development and Informatisation Minister Mr Migal proposed an amendment to the government resolution during the government meeting to cancel the exemption from flexibility for local governments, which would block €400 million,“ noted Drucker. On Thursday (3 July), Migal reacted to the press conference held by House Chair Richard Rasi (Voice-SD) and Interior Ministry State Secretary Michal Kalinak after a meeting with representatives of local governments. They stated that the only possible solution in the case of blocked EU funds for local authorities is to unblock an amount of €200 million. According to Migal, the proposal to block €200 million in EU funds was put forward by Voice-SD party member Tomas Drucker. lin
