Man Caught and Charged After Bomb Threat Call to Emergency Line in Nitra

Nitra/Bratislava, 3 July (TASR) – Criminal investigators in Nitra have identified and apprehended a man who called emergency line 112 claiming that he had just been released from prison, was a mechanic, knew how to build a bomb and intended to detonate it in a residential building, TASR learnt on Thursday. According to police, the incident occurred on 28 June. Thanks to prompt action by the criminal police department, the suspect was located and detained on the same day. "An investigator charged the 31-year-old man with the offence of scaremongering and submitted a motion for pre-trial custody," stated the police. A judge has approved the custody request. mf/df
