Bratislava, 2 July (TASR) - An event called 'Medifutura - the future of medics in Slovakia matters to us' will take place on 25 September in Bratislava, with its aim being to show medics what the job market in the Slovak health care offers them and to motivate them to stay in Slovakia, Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD) told a press conference on Wednesday.
"Our ambition is to involve approximately 1,700 retiring medics and thus create a clear space with the whole sector where we will show an eminent interest in them in a discussion so that they are oriented and have a clear motivation to stay here," said the minister, stressing that the future of the Slovak health sector is based on young people and he personally cares about them staying to work in Slovakia. He said that this year, for the first time, he sent out a personal letter to every medical graduate. In it, he said, he thanked the future doctors and urged them to consider staying in Slovakia.
The minister stated that the entire health sector would be represented at the event. "In addition to students and universities and also several ministries that will be represented at the event, there will also be state-owned and private hospitals, ambulance services, all professional institutions, self-governing regions and basically everyone who has something to say to the health-care market," he added.
