Bratislava, 2 July (TASR) - The medical plan of the new national university hospital in Bratislava's borough of Vajnory is ready, Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD) said on Wednesday in response to a journalist's question, adding that the plan has 38 pages and was discussed with senior doctors, hospital chiefs and managements, as well as with other experts.
"The government resolution has obliged me to prepare a medical plan by 30 June. That task has been completed. It is posted on the website," noted the minister, adding that he had also presented the plan to the medical experts and the media at a press breakfast.
The minister dismissed criticism from deputy chair of the House health committee and opposition MP Oskar Dvorak (Progressive Slovakia/PS) in this regard. "I also invited him to contribute constructively with a discussion, with a human resource. But again, only politics is being made out of this," stated Sasko.
Dvorak on Wednesday criticised the health minister for not presenting a medical plan for a new national university hospital in Vajnory, although he was supposed to do so by 30 June, calling on Sasko to present the plan to the public along with a financial plan and a construction schedule. Dvorak also asked Sasko to consult the plans with the opposition, as the construction of the hospital will involve several electoral terms.
The new General Milan Rastislav Stefanik National University Hospital is to be built in Vajnory on land owned by the Defence Ministry. The project is to be financed through the Recovery and Resilience Plan, 2 percent of defence spending, and to a lesser extent, from the public budget. Construction is scheduled to begin later this year.
