Government Earmarks €300,000 for Student Campus Project in Puchov

Puchov, 2 July (TASR) - The government on Wednesday at its away-from-home meeting in Puchov (Trencin region) allocated €300,000 for the continuation of the project preparation of the EDUTECH high school-college campus in Puchov, rector of Trencin-based Alexander Dubcek University (TnUAD) Jozef Habanik stated. "It is a compound that will include secondary vocational education in Puchov, the TnUAD Faculty of Industrial Technologies, four major employers from the region, two secondary schools and two universities from abroad," said the rector. According to him, 11 partners participate in the project, currently a valid land-use decision has been issued for the construction of the area, and contracts for the implementation projects and the preparation of the building permit have been signed. The estimated cost of the 11 buildings of the entire campus is about €40 million. The project will be financed from the Slovakia Programme. The total implementation period is expected to be years. The buildings will be reconstructed and modernised gradually, while new ones will also be built. am/mcs
