Government Approves More Than Two Million Euros for Puchov and Ilava

Puchov, 2 July (TASR) - The government has allocated more than two million euros to improve the economic and social situation in Puchov and Ilava (both Trencin region), with almost one million euros to be spent on specific projects of local governments in both districts, as the government decided at its Wednesday off-site meeting in Puchov. The resolution also includes tasks for individual ministries to prepare and implement measures to improve the socio-economic situation and living conditions within specified deadlines. These are some of the tasks: For example, Economy Minister Denisa Sakova (Voice-SD) is to continue searching for new investors, including potential projects of established manufacturing plants in the districts of Puchov and Ilava. Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok (Voice-SD) is to look for funding opportunities for the feasibility study and other stages of the project preparation of the new fire station in the area of Trencianske Biskupice (borough of Trencin). At the same time, Transport Minister Jozef Raz (a Smer-SD nominee) was tasked with ensuring large-scale repairs on the section of the I/49 road on the state border with the Czech Republic. He's also to ensure the announcement of a public tender for the contractor of the feasibility study update for the entire R6 expressway project by the end of this year. Environment Minister Tomas Taraba (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) has until the end of June 2026 to ensure the start of the reconstruction of the wall of the Nosice Dam. lin/mcs
