Skanska SK to Build Middle of Three Missing Sections of D3 Motorway

Bratislava, 1 July (TASR) - The National Highway Company (NDS) has completed the public procurement for the construction of the D3 motorway section Kysucke Nove Mesto-Oscadnica in Zilina region, Transport Minister Jozef Raz (a Smer-SD nominee) posted on a social network on Tuesday. Based on the results of the tender, the construction of the middle of the three missing sections of the D3 motorway will done by the construction company Skanska SK. "We can soon look forward to the appearance of excavators on this section and the start of construction of this very important part of the D3 motorway, which also fulfils the government manifesto," said Raz, adding that in the public procurement, the final price of the work was reduced by approximately €46 million compared to the estimated value of the contract. In the public tender for the construction of the D3 motorway section Kysucke Nove Mesto-Oscadnica, Skanska SK submitted the most advantageous offer. The proposed price is €261.3 million, ex-VAT. The second cheapest bid worth €262.9 was submitted by the D3 KNM-Osc Association consisting of Metrostav DS and Vahostav. The section is more than 9.6 kilometres long, it forms the middle part of the future motorway between Zilina and Cadca. The procurement envisages the construction of 22 bridges, one intersection, one rest area, as well as a wildlife corridor. am/mcs
