SHMU Issues Afternoon Heat Alert for Southern Slovakia on Monday

Bratislava, 30 June (TASR) - Temperatures in southern Slovakia may reach 33°C on Monday afternoon, the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMU) has therefore issued a first-level heat warning for the districts of Komarno, Nove Zamky, Levice, Velky Krtis, Lucenec, Rimavska Sobota, and Revuca, TASR has learnt from SHMU's website. The warning is in effect from 2.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. “High temperatures pose a potential risk to human health, physical activity, and increase the likelihood of fires,” stated the meteorologists. lin
