Bratislava, 27 June (TASR) - The Interior Ministry plans to launch a public procurement for three heavy helicopters for rescue, emergency and firefighting operations "soon", spokesman for the ministry Matej Neumann told TASR on Friday, adding that this will strengthen the currently insufficient capacity of its fleet. According to him, the ministry wants to conclude a framework contract, which will allow the price of each helicopter to be negotiated separately and doesn't commit to a purchase. "In addition to improving the ability to respond to fires, search operations and emergency evacuations, it's necessary to respond to the requirements of the rescEU programme, from which the Interior Ministry has already received a grant of €36.6 million for the purchase of one helicopter," said the spokesman. am
