Poll: PS Would Have Won Election, with Smer-SD Runner-up in June

Bratislava, 26 June (TASR) - If parliamentary election had been held in June, Progressive Slovakia (PS) would have won on 22.5 percent of votes, followed by Smer-SD on 19.3 percent and Voice-SD on 12.1 percent, according to a poll conducted by AKO agency on behalf of TV JOJ 24.
Also making it to Parliament would have been Republic (8.1 percent), the 'Slovakia' party (8 percent), Freedom and Solidarity (SaS - 7.3 percent), and the Christian Democrats (KDH - 6.9 percent).
Failing to pass the 5-percent threshold, on the other hand, would have been 'Democrats' (4.8 percent), the Slovak National Party (SNS - 4.1 percent), Hungarian Alliance (3.4 percent), 'We Are Family' (2.7 percent), the Pirate Party - Slovakia (0.3 percent), the Communist Party of Slovakia (KSS - 0.3 percent), Most-Hid 2023 (0.1 percent) and the National Coalition/Independent Candidates (0.1 percent).
Based on poll results, PS would have garnered 40 seats in Parliament, Smer-SD - 34, Voice-SD - 22, Republic - 15, 'Slovakia' - 14, SaS - 13 and KDH - 12.
The poll was carried out on a sample of 1,000 respondents between June 11-19.
