Bratislava, 26 June (TASR) - Judicial Council head Marcela Kosova announced election of one candidate for the post of judge of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) for September 16, Judicial Council Office's spokesperson Veronika Vasilkova has informed TASR. Kosova did so after the Judicial Council managed to elect only two out of three candidates at its June session. The council can only submit a proposal to the government after three candidates have been elected. The deadline for submitting proposals for candidates to the Judicial Council is August 22. At its session earlier in June, the Judicial Council elected two of three candidates for ECHR judge post, namely Branislav Jablonka and Ondrej Laciak. The council didn't elect current European prosecutor Juraj Novocky. The Judicial Council head Marcela Kosova therefore had to announce a new election, but only for one candidate. ko/mcs
