Stats: Industrial Producer Prices Up only Slightly in May

Bratislava, 26 June (TASR) - Industrial producer prices for the domestic market posted just a slight increase in May 2025, going up by 0.2 percent year-on-year (y-o-y), the Statistics Office reported on Thursday. Thirteen of the 16 monitored branches of industry posted growth in prices in May. The overall result was mainly influenced by a 3.7-percent increase in producer prices in both rubber and plastic products, and water supplies. However, increases were also posted in the production of food, beverages and tobacco (3.1 percent), in the production of means of transport (0.4 percent) and in the production of metals (0.3 percent). Conversely, prices in the production of coke and oil products fell by 19.5 percent y-o-y, while those of energy and gas declined by 1 percent. In a monthly comparison, industrial producer prices for the domestic market grew by 0.6 percent from April. In the first five months of the year, industrial producer prices went up by 0.8 percent. Prices of industrial products for export in May were 0.6 percent higher than the year before, while they decreased by 0.2 percent on a monthly basis.
