Premier Fico to Leave for EU Summit in Brussels on Thursday

Bratislava, 25 June (TASR) - Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) will leave for a regular two-day European Council summit, slated to start in Brussels on Thursday (26 June), TASR learnt from the Government Office press department on Wednesday „EU leaders will discuss economic challenges, particularly those concerning the improving of the EU’s competitiveness. They will also talk about European defense and security as well as migration. In addition, at the summit they're expected to address the situation in Ukraine - with leaders focusing on the support for peace efforts and Ukraine’s path toward EU membership - and the latest developments in the Middle East,” the Government Office stated. mf
