SHMU Raises Storm Alerts to Second Level for Most of Slovakia

Bratislava, 23 June (TASR) - The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMU) has raised the storm alert to the second level for most of Slovakia, TASR has learnt from its website.
The alert is in place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The second level storm alert is valid in the whole Bratislava, Banska Bystrica, Nitra and Trnava regions, almost all the Trencin region and Turcianske Teplice district (Zilina region). "There is an increased probability of strong thunderstorms accompanied by heavy downpours with an intensity of 20-30 millimetres in 30 minutes with wind gusts of 70 to 110 kilometres per hour and hail," stated the SHMU.
