Bratislava, 22 June (TASR) - Any conflict needs to be solved at the United Nations (UN) and not through weapons, no matter how good the intentions are, Foreign Affairs Minister Juraj Blanar (Smer-SD) has said in response to the US night attacks on Iran.
"It's unacceptable for any country to conduct military operations on the territory of another sovereign country. We've been consistently appealing that the Middle East region urgently needs peace and stability, which requires de-escalation of the situation and, above all, the return of diplomacy and dialogue," stated Blanar, adding that Slovakia has repeatedly pointed to the violation of international law.
Blanar said that the Slovak diplomacy always responds with active steps to ensure the safety of Slovak citizens who find themselves in the region. According to him, protecting their lives and health is the ministry's priority.
The U.S. military on Sunday carried out massive precision strikes on the three key nuclear assemblies in Iran: Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan.
