President Receives Cultural Institutions Heads, Set to Also Meet with Minister

Bratislava, 18 June (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini received on Wednesday general directors of three key institutions under the Culture Ministry, TASR was told by the President's Office on the same day.
The aim of the head of state was to get acquainted with the state of the Slovak National Theatre (SND), the Slovak National Gallery (SNG) and Slovak Television and Radio (STVR). Next week, he's due to discuss the situation in the entire sector with Culture Minister Martina Simkovicova (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee).
The Presidential Palace was successively visited by general director of the Slovak National Theatre Zuzana Tapakova, head of the Slovak National Gallery Juraj Kralik and chief of public-service Slovak Television and Radio Martina Flasikova.
The office reported that Tapakova, among other things, informed the president about the SND's preparations for the next season. "According to her, the theatre is stabilised and ready to offer a rich programme to the audience," they said. According to the office, Kralik also spoke about short-term and long-term plans for the future. The director stated that SNG is preparing new exhibitions.
According to the President's Office, Flasikova informed the head of state about the new programme structure of STVR and the planned strengthening of regional content and own production as essential areas in the operation of the public-service broadcaster.
