Kia Slovakia Launches Production of Facelifted Sportage

Teplicka nad Vahom, 18 June (TASR) - Kia Slovakia launched production of a modernised version of the fifth generation of the Sportage model at its plant in Teplicka nad Vahom (Zilina region) on Monday (16 June), company's spokesman Tomas Potocek reported on Wednesday, adding that facelifted Kia Sportage should hit the market in the third quarter of this year. The upgraded version brings extensive improvements in design, technology, comfort and sustainability. The facelifted Kia Sportage is the first ever Kia Sportage specifically designed for European customers. It will be produced exclusively in Slovakia. The exterior of the upgraded version is dominated by new LED headlights and a new wheel design, while the inside features a new 10-inch head-up display that clearly shows all important information. The Sportage production was launched in Teplicka nad Vahom in 2007, since when more than 2.7 million cars have left the company's doors in all four generations. Most of them went to the UK, where more than 440,000 cars have been sold. am
