Bratislava, 18 June (TASR) - Lukas Pellegrini and MEP Branislav Ondrus are due to become new members of the presidium of the coalition Voice-SD party, TASR was told by the party's press department on Wednesday.
The Voice-SD presidium agreed on Wednesday on the candidates for presidium members who are to be elected at a party's congress in Poprad (Presov region) on Saturday (21 June). Current member of the presidium and MP Jan Ferencak is not among them. The tenure of party chairman Matus Sutaj Estok is not yet over.
"All of the proposed candidates are a guarantee that they will develop the basic principles on which the Voice party was founded and which it continues to honour and develop, i.e. to work to bring a better life to the people, regions and whole of Slovakia," reads the Voice-SD statement.
In addition to Pellegrini and Ondrus, the proposed candidates include current members of the presidium Branislav Becik, Jan Blchac, Karol Janas, Peter Kalivoda, Peter Kmec, Lubica Lassakova, Peter Nahlik, Robert Puci, Dusan Tittel and Peter Ziga.
The tenures haven't expired yet for presidium members Kamil Sasko and Michal Kalinak, vice-chairs Tomas Drucker, Richard Rasi, Erik Tomas and Denisa Sakova, and party general manager Igor Tkacivsky.
Ferencak told journalists on Wednesday that party leader Matus Sutaj Estok hasn't proposed re-electing him to the presidium. The reason is supposed to be a loss of trust in him, as well as his recent stances, such as his proposal to adjourn the vote on the amendment to the Constitution.
