Sutaj Estok: Voice-SD Will Continue to Guarantee Clear Anchoring in EU and NATO

Bratislava, 17 June (TASR) - The Voice-SD party will continue to guarantee that Slovakia won't deviate from its living space and will remain clearly anchored in the European Union and NATO, chairman of the coalition party and Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok posted on a social network on Tuesday after Premier Robert Fico's (Smer-SD) statement that neutrality would suit Slovakia at this time. "All the three most senior constitutional officials, including the prime minister, signed a memorandum on the clear anchoring of Slovakia in the European Union and NATO. The government manifesto determines our living and security space in the EU and NATO," stated Sutaj Estok. The Voice leader pointed out that thanks to its membership of the European Union, Slovakia has a stable and prosperous living space. "We build new schools, roads, reconstruct playgrounds. At the same time, our membership of NATO provides us with a security umbrella that protects our country," he noted. Premier Fico, when answering a journalist's question concerning the issue of increasing defence spending, said that neutrality would suit Slovakia at this time, when arms producers are flourishing and Europe is talking about war. am/df
