Bratislava, 17 June (TASR) - MPs began Tuesday's parliamentary session with a debate on a proposal for fast-track legislative proceedings regarding an amendment to the law on the Fire and Rescue Corps (HaZZ). Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok (Voice-SD) came to present the draft to Parliament in person.
The draft responds to lawsuits filed by HaZZ members in connection with exceeding the 48-hour average weekly working time. "The bill stipulates that the average weekly working time of a HaZZ member, including overtime service and on-call duty may not exceed 48 hours," reads the draft.
MPs will vote at usual times - at 11.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on Tuesday. In the early evening, Parliament is scheduled to vote on the government's amendment to the Slovak Constitution.
