Bratislava, 15 June (TASR) - I want to ask experts from the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) and universities to draw up a vision of Slovakia's development until 2040, Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) told a press conference on Sunday, adding that he also wants to involve in it employers and experienced diplomats. The premier believes that the vision would help the country and expects that it would be respected by future governments. Fico considers it to be important to estimate what will happen in the coming years. He pointed out that we're entering a period of great change and difficult times. "What do we want our gross domestic product to look like, what should it be based on, what share could tourism, for example, provide in this area, how will the arms industry develop, our education system, what will we do with the local government? There are a lot of questions and some vision for 15 years would help the country a lot," he stated. Fico hopes that the document will also address developments in foreign policy. The premier expects that such work will be respected by everyone, regardless of a possible change in the government. "Once we say that it is in our interest to achieve that tourism will generate such and such a share of GDP, then this should be valid and the next government, whether it is right, left, liberal or any other, should respect this," he said. am
