Gov't OKs Memorandum of Cooperation in Construction of Malinec Hydro-Power Plant

Bratislava, 12 June (TASR) - The government approved the procedure for implementing the memorandum of cooperation on the preparation and construction of the Malinec-Latky hydro-power plant project on Thursday. "Government's approval was a condition for this memorandum to take effect," noted the Environment Ministry, which submitted the respective proposal. The ministry stressed that the memorandum, signed on 5 June, creates a basis for cooperation between the municipalities concerned in the preparation and construction of the Malinec-Latky hydro-power station as a "strategic project from the viewpoint of Slovakia in the context of the need to maintain permanent energy stability and prevent fluctuations in electricity prices and deepening of disproportions in the energy system". ko
