Tomas Kamenec Becomes New President of Slovak Bar Association

Bratislava, 11 June (TASR) - The Slovak Bar Association (SAK) has elected Tomas Kamenec as its new head at Wednesday’s meeting of the newly appointed presidium, which also chose Alexandra Cizmarikova and Stanislav Durica as vice-presidents, the SAK announced on its website, with Kamenec succeeding Martin Puchalla, whose second term had ended. "Out of a total of 6,726 eligible voters – lawyers – 2,125 colleagues participated in the election and cast their votes, representing 31.58 percent," the Bar Association explained. Kamenec received 865 votes in the presidium election, Cizmarikova secured 788 votes, and Durica received 582 votes. “The specific responsibilities of the newly elected members of the SAK will be published on the Bar Association’s website after it has been updated,” the SAK revealed. lin
