PM: Visit to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Aims to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Bratislava, 8 June (TASR) - Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) will travel on Sunday with a delegation of ministers and business representatives for an official visit to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, aimed at strengthening Slovakia’s bilateral relations with both countries, TASR learnt from the Government Office on the same day. In Tashkent, Fico is scheduled to meet with the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, and Senate Chairwoman Tanzila Narbayeva. “The Prime Minister [Fico] will discuss with President Mirziyoyev the deepening of mutual bilateral cooperation and the strengthening of economic ties. During the meeting, several memoranda will be signed, including agreements on establishing strategic partnership relations and cooperation in agriculture, among others,” stated the Government Office. It added that in the Uzbek capital, the Prime Minister will also take part in a business forum focused on enhancing economic cooperation. In Astana, Kazakhstan, Fico will meet with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov to discuss firther strengthening bilateral relations between Slovakia and Kazakhstan. “During the visit, the Slovak Premier will open a business forum attended by representatives of Slovak companies,” the Government Office added. lin
