Analysis: Most Slovaks on Holiday Stick to Planned Budget

Bratislava, 7 June (TASR) - The majority of Slovaks keep to their planned budget while on holiday, with the average Slovak holidaymaker's budget this year being €90 higher than last summer, according to Visa's latest study.
More than four-fifths of Slovak holidaymakers pay digitally.
According to the analysis, the holiday budget for Slovaks amounts to €890 per person, increasing by over 11 percent from last year. Slovak holidaymakers most often spend money on food, trips and souvenirs. This year, Slovaks plan to add an extra day and spend an average of nine days on holiday. Almost half of Slovaks plan their holiday spending carefully before they leave, and 83 percent stick to their budget.
Slovaks usually spend as much money on holidays as they have set aside. The analysis showed that only 17 percent of holidaymakers deviate from their original plan when shopping abroad.
A total of 51 percent of holidaymakers prepare their foreign trip themselves, the rest prefer tours. In both cases, they are most likely to purchase services online and pay digitally.
