JAVYS Launches Procurement for Consultancy on New Nuclear Power Source

Bratislava, 3 June (TASR) - The Nuclear and Decommissioning Company (JAVYS) as a public contracting authority has officially announced a public procurement for a contract related to providing comprehensive economic and financial support (consultancy) in connection with the preparation of a new nuclear power source, JAVYS communications manager Pavel Machava stated on Tuesday, adding that the estimated value of the contract is €15 million excluding VAT. According to Machava, the aim of this contract is to provide professional support to the state in preparing and concluding contractual relations between Slovakia and future investors, including support in negotiations with the affected entities and other necessary activities. The consultancy will focus on protecting the economic and financial interests of the state, the efficient use of public funds and designing a financing model for a new nuclear project. "The transparent and professional provision of economic and financial elements of the new nuclear power source project is an absolute priority for us. This contract is of key importance for protecting public interests and Slovakia's credibility in negotiations with European partners and the private sector," stressed JAVYS head Miroslav Obert. am/df
